Walmart catalogue and deals of the week

Walmart and Nigeria: what is actually known and how to read the catalogue

Which Walmart are we talking about?

Start with the honest bit: Walmart is an American retailer, and a search for walmart nigeria deserves a careful answer. On its corporate website Walmart says its international business covers 18 countries outside the United States, and the African markets it names are Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia. Nigeria is not on that list. So if you type walmart store or walmart near me while in Lagos or Abuja, do not assume a branch is waiting for you.

The Nigerian link, historically, runs through South Africa. Walmart took a majority stake in Massmart, a Johannesburg group, with the deal becoming effective in 2011 and approved in 2012, and Massmart ran Game stores in several African countries, Nigeria among them. In 2018 Massmart executives still described Nigeria as part of their core plan. Compare that background with local chains on the Nigeria page, such as Shoprite and Game, both listed under Groceries. Shoprite, for example, is now Nigerian-owned: Ketron Investment, chaired by Tayo Amusan, acquired its Nigerian operations in 2021, so the shop you may remember as South African changed hands.

What happened to Massmart's Nigerian stores

A 2010 report on the early takeover talks said the Palms Shopping Centre in Lagos would host a store that was part of the Walmart family. Later the picture shifted. In 2021 Massmart said it was starting a formal sales process for fourteen Game stores in East and West Africa, five of them in Nigeria, because running them had become complex and it wanted to focus on its core strengths. A Nigerian business report said the Nigerian stores went to the controlling shareholder of PricePointe Wholesale Club, a wholesaler operating in Lagos, with the price kept private.

What does this mean for you as a shopper? Mainly that old headlines can mislead. A shopper hoping for Walmart service in Nigeria should compare real, current options and check addresses before travelling. Good local places to start are Justrite, a chain founded in 2000 with stores across Lagos, Ogun and Osun states, and CMart Supermarket, and for home items and non-food shopping look at Other and Health & Beauty. None of this tells you what is on a shelf this week; it only explains why the Walmart name appears in Nigerian searches.

Using the Walmart catalogue on this page

The Walmart catalogue here runs from 01.10.2026 to 31.10.2026 over 7 pages, with a typical validity of 31 days, and new editions tend to appear on Thursday. People search for walmart flyer, walmart flyers and walmart flyer this week all the time, and many of those searches come from Canada or the United States, where Walmart has its own weekly circulars. Because we cannot confirm a Walmart branch in Nigeria, read each page for the terms that apply, and check the seller, the delivery area and the returns rules before you act on anything you see.

The same advice applies to walmart offers, walmart offers this week and walmart offers today: an offer is only useful if you can actually reach it. If you want something that definitely serves Nigerian homes, compare Spar, a Nigerian-run licence of the international Spar brand that has operated hypermarkets in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, Supermart for grocery delivery, or the online marketplaces Jumia and Konga. Also check the walmart flyers this week against what they have in your city and keep your own list handy, since a good deal that you cannot collect is no deal.
