Hyper Panda in Saudi Arabia: the hypermarket side of Panda

Who stands behind Hyper Panda

Hyper Panda is the hypermarket banner of Panda Retail Company, a Saudi grocery group that sits inside the Savola Group. Anyone typing hyper panda into a search box often wants to know who owns it. Savola took over the business in 1998, when the company still traded as Azizia Panda United, and the shorter name Panda Retail Company came later. The family of banners also grew through purchases: Giant Stores joined from the Al-Muhaidib Group in 2008 and Geant stores from Al Hokair Group in 2009, and both were merged into Panda.

Store counts depend on the date you read them. A mid-2016 listing put the chain at around 65 hypermarkets next to roughly 156 smaller Panda supermarkets, and newer outlets have opened since, so use the store finder in the app instead of an old list. The same goes for hyper panda opening hours: they differ by branch, so check the locator before a long drive across Saudi Arabia.

If you compare big boxes in the Other hub, Lulu and Carrefour are the other hypermarket names most shoppers weigh against it, while Tamimi Markets is a chain with deep roots in the Eastern Province.

Ordering online and checking delivery

The Panda app covers both Panda and Hyper Panda stores. According to its App Store listing, a personal shopper collects your order in the store and brings it to your door, with delivery offered in about twenty cities, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Khobar, Dammam and Abha. You can save favourite lists, shop by recipe, leave a note for the shopper, scan a barcode to add an item and repeat an earlier basket with one tap. The app works in Arabic and English. Some reviewers say delivery timing and missing items vary from store to store, so read the substitution choices before you confirm.

Behind the app sits a larger technology move. Panda signed an agreement with Ocado in February 2024, and Ocado's platform began powering online fulfilment from stores and manual fulfilment centres in January 2025. In September 2025 Panda also appointed Liquid Havas Market to look after product content and digital merchandising in the app, which a trade report said draws more than ten million visitors a year. For you this mostly means clearer product pages, although delivery areas and fees can change, so confirm them in the app.

Searches such as hyper panda jeddah or hyper panda madinah usually come down to one question: is my district covered? Both cities appear on the app's delivery list, but your exact address decides. For other grocery apps in Saudi Arabia, look at Nesto and Al Raya, and browse the wider Other hub to see who else publishes a catalogue.

Reading the weekly offers

The current Hyper Panda catalogue on this page runs from 21.10.2026 to 27.10.2026 and has 8 pages. Editions like this normally stay valid for about 31 days, and new ones tend to appear around Wednesday. People who search for hyper panda offers today, a hyper panda weekly offer today or hyper panda offers Riyadh are mostly looking for exactly this kind of page, so it is a quick way to see what is on promotion before you leave home.

Treat the catalogue as a planning sheet. Write down the product, the pack size and the unit, then compare the same item in the catalogue of SACO or Dukan. A larger pack is not automatically the better buy, and a hypermarket trip makes most sense when several items on your list are featured together. Before Ramadan or National Day it also helps to plan a stock-up basket a few days ahead and check each catalogue for the staples you need.

Some shoppers also look for a hyper panda weekly promotion that is specific to their city. Promotions can differ between branches and between the app and the shelf, so check the label at the shelf and the basket total before you pay. For more catalogues to compare, Mark & Save and A Market are worth a look beside Saudi Arabia.
